Anniversary trip

Split, Croatia

To celebrate the 20-year anniversary of e-Business Travel, of which The TravelLab is part, we embarked on a special trip to Croatia. With nearly the entire team – almost 50 people – we flew from Amsterdam to Split with KLM on Friday. There, we were welcomed by our colleagues from The TravelLab, who had arrived a day earlier.

“Split offers the perfect blend of rich history, breathtaking nature and the laid-back charm of the Adriatic coast, a city where past and future walk hand in hand.”

Experience three days in Split with us!

Culture and gastronomy

The first activity was a traditional Dalmatian lunch on the sun-drenched terrace of a hillside restaurant, beautifully situated with views of Split and the Adriatic Sea. Afterwards we checked in at a stunning seaside hotel, just minutes on foot from Split’s lively waterfront. The afternoon was devoted to exploring Diocletian’s Palace and strolling through the Old Town’s charming streets, guided by two local experts. The day concluded with a celebratory group dinner.

Unique transport

Saturday promised adventure. Four luxury speedboats whisked us to Hvar Island in under an hour. Choppy seas made for an exciting, laughter-filled ride. On Hvar, colourful Beetle cabrios awaited, ready to take us through olive groves and along winding mountain roads with sweeping views. After a tasty lunch at a cosy family-run restaurant, we had time to wander the picturesque town of Hvar. Back in Split we wrapped up the day with casual drinks and dinner.

A suitcase full of memories

On Sunday, after a generous breakfast, we flew home to the Netherlands with suitcases brimming with memories, stories and countless photos – a weekend of adventure, team spirit and fun, and a wonderful way to celebrate our milestone together.

Four highlights of Split

1. Diocletian’s Palace

A UNESCO World Heritage site and the heart of Split. This 4th-century palace complex blends history, architecture and vibrant ambience. Wander narrow lanes, discover ancient temples and enjoy the unique mix of old and new.

2. Riva-promenade

The elegant seafront boulevard, perfect for a leisurely stroll. Soak up the Mediterranean vibe, café culture, and gorgeous Adriatic views. One of Split’s liveliest spots.

3. Krka waterfalls (Krka National Park)

A short drive from Split brings you to this stunning natural wonder. Famous for its turquoise cascades, walking trails, and swimming spots – an ideal day trip for nature lovers escaping the city.

4. Bačvice beach

A popular sandy beach within walking distance of the centre, known for the traditional ball game “picigin”. Perfect for swimming, sunbathing and experiencing local beach life.
